Yusuke Nagakubo and Mitsufumi Nishimura: "Unless you give it a try, you can’t even fail."

Nagakubo: I belonged to a very strict club in my high school. When I was in the first year, we made a mistake and every member in the first grade had to get a buzz cut as ‘collective responsibility’. It was a tough time but I didn’t leave the club because I love basketball.

Nishimura: My biggest trouble is from getting severely injured last April. I’ve been taking a lot of time to fully recover, and even now, I can’t practice. I’m upset with the sense of feeling powerless and guilty about not contributing to the team. But being depressed doesn’t heal the injury, so I’ll try to get well as soon as possible and make up for my absence.

Advice from both: If you keep doing what you like, you’ll find it rewarding and life becomes much more fantastic! So, try whatever you are interested in and whatever you think is worthwhile for your future. Unless you give it a try, you can’t even fail. In club activities, studying, job hunting, or anything else, it’s always important to do your best!

主将：高校の部活が本当に厳しくて。一年生の時は仕事を間違えた連帯責任で同期全員丸坊主にさせられました笑　きつかったけれど、大好きなバスケができなくなってしまうのは嫌で部活はやめませんでした。

副主将：一番の出来事は今年4月に大きな怪我をしてしまったことです。完治には時間がかかり、今も練習ができず、自分の無力さとチームに貢献できない罪悪感に苛まれます。でも落ち込んでいても怪我は治らない。早く回復して、挽回したい気持ちでいっぱいです。

—情熱を持つことについてお2人からのアドバイス

好きなことを続けていればやりがいを見つけ、人生が楽しくなる！まずは興味のあること、自分の将来のためになりそうなことを何でも試してみること。やってみないと失敗もできないと思います。部活、勉強、就活どれにおいても、目の前の課題に全力を注ぐことが大事！
